In Hawaiian, pikoʻole literally translates to "crownless" or "without a piko." It is most commonly used to describe a pāpale piko ʻole, which is a traditional crownless or open-top woven hat.

Now don't forget, these hat styles do not have the crown, so the art you choose will be burned on the top and underside of the brim only.
